2025 General Election

We are less than one month from the deadline to register to vote in the 2025 General Election. Registration in Ohio is extremely easy and can be done online or in person at the BOE office.

To register online, visit the Ohio Secretary of State website.

To check your current registration visit the Board of Elections voter lookup website.

Early Voting & Absentee Voting

Early voting in person at the Board office and Absentee voting both will begin on October 7th. For full hours of early voting, check the Geauga County BOE website.

Be aware that the Geauga BOE office has moved! They are now located at 12611 Ravenwood Dr., Suite 004, Chardon, OH 44024 which is down in the basement of the county building.

Absentee Ballot applications can be downloaded here and then mailed to the Board Office.

Want to get involved?

The County is frequently looking for new poll workers. If you want to get involved you can signup here. Being a poll worker requires attending a training meeting which is typically 3 hours long. You will then help to setup the polling site on the Monday before elections (generally less than an hour of work) and then be on-site all day long Tuesday from 5:30am until 8:30pm (generally).

You are required to work all day on Tuesday except for an hour lunch break. It makes for a very long day, but it is extremely rewarding to help your neighbors exercise their right to vote. It also gives you an inside look into how well our elections are run and gives you the opportunity to be part of that!

A Final Note

Our take on Election and Political content

Our goal is to educate and inform. We will never post content that is partisan or intended to sway your political views. Over the next couple months we will be sharing election information to help you exercise your right to be an informed voter. This will include sharing information about candidate forum events, links to candidate’s webpages, as well as various information about the voting process and recent changes. If you ever have any questions or believe we are sharing partisan content, please let us know!
