A sign has been posted on Snyder Road, just South of E. Washington stating that the road will be closed around Nov 26th. We reached out to Bainbridge Township’s Service Department and got the following response:
The Service Department has identified a sinkhole near a catch basin on the east side of Snyder Road caused by a deteriorating steel culvert pipe running beneath the roadway. To address this, our crew will remove a lateral section of the road, replace the compromised pipe with a plastic “Hi-Q” pipe, backfill the area, and restore the asphalt surface.
This work is scheduled for November 26th, which aligns with the first day of Kenston Schools’ Thanksgiving break, ensuring the closure will not impact school-day traffic. The Chagrin Valley Athletic Club will remain accessible from the south during the closure. We do not anticipate the work taking more than one day to complete.
It’s great to see government groups coordinating with each other. We certainly don’t need more bussing issues at Kenston this year. Also, kudos to the Service Dept for identifying and resolving an issue when it is small!
