Kari’s Play World
In 2019, Bainbridge Township closed the old, wooden, playground located at River Road Park stating that the structures were no longer stable or safe for children to climb on. In response the parents in the Township showed up to a trustee’s meeting and made their point heard to build a new playground. After raising over $300,000 the new playground opened in May of 2021 as a welcome respite from the COVID era where families could once again gather.
The playground was named Kari’s Play World in honor of local Kari Friedman who’s family donated $35,000 to the park.
Here you will find numerous slides, a rock climbing wall, swings, three different climbing structures, a spinney thing, and a teeter-totter.

Play Ball!
Kids (and adults!) from across the area come to River Road Park to play on the various ball fields. There are four soccer/football fields, two sand volleyball courts, and three baseball/softball fields.
In nearly all seasons you will find kids using these fields for rec-league sports through Kenston Community Education programs.
If you are planning to watch a game make sure to bring a chair/blanket as there is no seating for spectators at any of the fields.

Need a place to gather?

The reservable shelter at River Road Park.
There is a fantastic shelter at River Road Park right next to the massive parking lot that ten composite picnic tables, plentiful trash/recycling containers, running water, and well-maintained flush bathrooms. Since the shelter overlooks the playground families can have events while their young ones entertain themselves.
The shelter (and the various ball fields) are able to be reserved by contacting Bainbridge Township. All the details can be found on the River Road Park section of the Township Parks website.
A quick note…
River Road Park is not a very unique name in the area. There is River Run Park in Chagrin Falls and even a River Road Park as part of the Lake County Metroparks. Please don’t make the same mistake I did when trying to find it the first time for a kids’ baseball game. Make sure to go to the correct address!

Trails
There is a level 1 mile paved trail running around/through the ball fields that people often use for walking dogs or jogging. Most of the trail has no shade so prepare accordingly.
