Upcoming Election in 2026

The next election is a Primary election to be held on May 5th, 2026. The filing deadline for candidates is February 4th so we won’t know the exact details of the ballot until mid-February. We do know that there will be candidates for Governor, US House of Representatives, State House/Senate/Judges, and a special primary election for US Senate (to fill the seat of JD Vance).

Since this is a Primary election you will be able to request a Republican ballot, Democrat ballot, issues-only ballot, and possibly a ballot for third parties depending on which candidates file. You make this choice when you request your absentee ballot or at your polling place and the decision determines you “political party affiliation” until the next Primary election (presidential primary in 2028).
