Did you know that you can still recycle all your paper, plastic, and glass without having to pay someone? Bainbridge Township’s Service Department runs a fantastic Recycling Center located at the entrance to Settler’s Park (17800 Haskins Road).

The Center is open 24/7 and now has bins that don’t even require you to separate your items, just dump them in and go! There are some items that are not acceptable, specifically:

Do NOT recycle the following: Food waste, household mixed trash, bio-hazard items, all wrapping paper, paint, chemicals, plastics with no recycle symbol, Styrofoam, plastic bags, and large items that will not fit into bins.

For years the common complaint about the Recycling Center was that it was messy because people were just leaving items outside the dumpsters. That has been resolved thanks to a larger asphalt area that holds even more dumpsters and the installation of a webcam that allows you to check the dumpster status before you leave home! Now, the only times I try to avoid are Sundays as most of the dumpsters are pretty full by then.

This fantastic service is run by volunteers and grants.
